We believe that all Scripture is inspired by God, written by holy men who were moved by the Holy Spirit. The Bible, in its original language, is without error and serves as a unified story pointing to Jesus Christ. Its teachings reveal God’s plan for salvation, instruct believers in righteousness, and prepare them to live faithfully. The Bible is the ultimate authority in all matters of faith, doctrine, and life. (Luke 24:27, 44; Romans 15:4; Galatians 1:8-9 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21)
We believe in one God who exists eternally in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are unified in nature, equal in attributes, and perfect in holiness. (Deut. 6:4; Matthew 28:19; Mark 12:29; John 10:30; 2 Cor. 13:14)
We believe in the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God. Scripture declares:
(a) His eternal existence (Genesis 1:26; John 1:1-3; Col. 1:15-17)
(b) His virgin birth (Matthew 1:23; Luke 1:31, 35)
(c) His sinless life (Hebrews 7:26; 1 Peter 2:22)
(d) His miracles (Acts 2:22; Acts 10:38)
(e) His substitutionary sacrifice on the cross (1 Corinthians 15:3; 2 Corinthians 5:21)
(f) His bodily resurrection (Matthew 28:6; Luke 24:39; 1 Corinthians 15:4)
(g) His exaltation to the right hand of God (Acts 1:9, 11; Acts 2:33; Philippians 2:9-11; Hebrews 1:3)
We believe that humanity was created by God in His image. Through sin, mankind brought upon themselves both physical death and spiritual death, which is separation from God. Every person is born with a sinful nature and, upon reaching moral responsibility, becomes a sinner in thought, word, and deed. (Genesis 1:26-27; Genesis 2:17; Psalm 51:5; Ecc. 7:20; Jeremiah 17:9; Romans 3:23, 5:12)
We believe that humanity’s only hope for redemption is through the shed blood of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
(a) Conditions of Salvation
Salvation is a gift of God’s grace, made available to all through the preaching of repentance toward God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. A person is saved by the washing of regeneration and the renewing work of the Holy Spirit. Through justification by grace through faith, they become heirs of God and recipients of the hope of eternal life.
(Luke 24:47; John 3:3; John 14:6; Romans 10:13-15; 2 Corinthians 7:10; Eph. 2:8-9; Titus 2:11; Titus 3:5-7; )
(b) The Evidence of Salvation
The inward evidence of salvation is the direct witness of the Holy Spirit to the believer. The outward evidence, visible to others, is a life characterized by righteousness, true holiness, and love for others.
(John 13:35; Romans 8:16-17; 2 Cor.5:17; Gal. 5:22-23; Titus 2:12)
We believe that Christ has given the Church two ordinances to be observed: baptism in water and Holy Communion. These ordinances are acts of obedience and expressions of faith, symbolizing our relationship with Christ and proclaiming His work of salvation.
(a) Baptism in Water
Baptism by immersion is commanded in Scripture. All who repent and believe in Christ as Savior and Lord are to be baptized. Through baptism, believers declare to the world that they have died with Christ and have been raised with Him to walk in newness of life.
( Matt. 28:19-20; Acts 2:38, 10:47-48; Romans 6:3-5;)
(b) Holy Communion
The Lord’s Supper, consisting of the bread and fruit of the vine, is a symbolic act expressing our sharing in the divine nature of Jesus Christ. It serves as a memorial of His suffering and death, a proclamation of His second coming, and is to be observed by all believers “until He comes.”
(Matt. 26:26-29; Luke 22:19-20; John 6:51-58; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26; 2 Peter 1:4; )
We believe sanctification is the process by which believers are set apart from sin and dedicated to God. The Scriptures teach that a life of holiness is essential, as it is written: “Pursue peace with all people, and the holiness without which no one will see the Lord” (Hebrews 12:14). By the power of the Holy Spirit, believers are called to obey the command: “You shall be Holy, for I am Holy” (1 Peter 1:15-16).
Sanctification is realized in the believer through:
This process is both a decisive act of separation from evil and an ongoing journey of becoming more like Christ through the work of the Holy Spirit.
We believe the Church is the body of Christ, the dwelling place of God through the Holy Spirit, divinely appointed to fulfill the Great Commission. Each believer, born of the Spirit, is an essential part of the General Assembly and the Church of the Firstborn, whose names are written in heaven.
(Matthew 28:18-20; Ephesians 1:22-23; Ephesians 2:19-22; Hebrews 12:23)
We also believe in the fellowship of believers, which is marked by unity, love, and shared purpose in Christ.
(Psalm 133:1-3; Acts 2:42-47; 1 John 1:7)
We believe in the imminent return of the Lord, which is the blessed hope of the Church. At His coming, those who have fallen asleep in Christ will be resurrected, and believers who are alive will be caught up together with them to meet the Lord.
(Romans 8:23; 1 Corinthians 15:51-52; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18; Titus 2:13)
We believe in the literal thousand-year reign of Jesus Christ on earth, as foretold in Scripture. At His second coming, Christ will return with His saints in power and glory to establish His kingdom. During this time, He will reign in righteousness, bringing peace and justice to the earth. Believers will reign with Him, and creation will experience the fulfillment of God’s promises.
(Isaiah 9:7; Zechariah 14:5; Matthew 24:27; Revelation 1:7; Revelation 19:1-14; Revelation 20:4-6)
We believe there will be a final judgment, where all will stand before God. The wicked dead will be raised and judged according to their deeds as evidence of their rejection of Christ. Whoever is not found written in the Book of Life—along with the devil, his angels, the beast, and the false prophet—will be consigned to everlasting punishment in the lake of fire, which is the second death.
(Matthew 25:46; Mark 9:43-48; Romans 2:6-8; Revelation 19:20; Revelation 20:11-15; Revelation 21:8)
We believe, according to His promise, in the creation of new heavens and a new earth, where righteousness will dwell. This will be the eternal home of God’s redeemed people, free from sin, sorrow, and death, and filled with the presence of God.
(2 Peter 3:13; Revelation 21:1-4, 22:1-5)
