Our Beliefs: Rooted in God’s Word

At New Covenant Christian Church, we are committed to the truth of the Bible and the life-changing message of Jesus Christ. Our beliefs shape our worship, guide our relationships, and inspire us to serve others with love and grace. Explore our foundational beliefs and join us as we live out our faith every day.

The Holy Scriptures

We believe that all Scripture is inspired by God, written by holy men who were moved by the Holy Spirit. The Bible, in its original language, is without error and serves as a unified story pointing to Jesus Christ. Its teachings reveal God’s plan for salvation, instruct believers in righteousness, and prepare them to live faithfully. The Bible is the ultimate authority in all matters of faith, doctrine, and life. (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Luke 24:27, 44; Romans 15:4; Galatians 1:8-9)

The Trinity of the Godhead

We believe in one God who exists eternally in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are unified in nature, equal in attributes, and perfect in holiness. (Mark 12:29; John 10:30; Matthew 28:19; 2 Cor. 13:14; Deut. 6:4)

The Deity of the Lord Jesus Christ

We believe in the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God. Scripture declares:

(a) His eternal existence (Genesis 1:26; John 1:1-3; Col. 1:15-17)

(b) His virgin birth (Matthew 1:23; Luke 1:31, 35)

(c) His sinless life (Hebrews 7:26; 1 Peter 2:22)

(d) His miracles (Acts 2:22; Acts 10:38)

(e) His substitutionary sacrifice on the cross (1 Corinthians 15:3; 2 Corinthians 5:21)

(f) His bodily resurrection (Matthew 28:6; Luke 24:39; 1 Corinthians 15:4)

(g) His exaltation to the right hand of God (Acts 1:9, 11; Acts 2:33; Philippians 2:9-11; Hebrews 1:3)

The Creation and Fall of Man

We believe that humanity was created by God in His image. Through sin, mankind brought upon themselves both physical death and spiritual death, which is separation from God. Every person is born with a sinful nature and, upon reaching moral responsibility, becomes a sinner in thought, word, and deed. (Genesis 1:26-27; Genesis 2:17; Psalm 51:5; Jeremiah 17:9; Romans 3:23, 5:12; Ecc. 7:20)

The Salvation of Man

We believe that humanity’s only hope for redemption is through the shed blood of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.

(a) Conditions of Salvation
Salvation is a gift of God’s grace, made available to all through the preaching of repentance toward God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. A person is saved by the washing of regeneration and the renewing work of the Holy Spirit. Through justification by grace through faith, they become heirs of God and recipients of the hope of eternal life.
(Titus 2:11; Titus 3:5-7; Romans 10:13-15; Luke 24:47; John 3:3; John 14:6; 2 Corinthians 7:10; Eph. 2:8-9)

(b) The Evidence of Salvation
The inward evidence of salvation is the direct witness of the Holy Spirit to the believer. The outward evidence, visible to others, is a life characterized by righteousness, true holiness, and love for others.
(Romans 8:16-17; Titus 2:12; John 13:35; 2 Cor.5:17; Gal. 5:22-23)

The Ordinances of the Church

We believe that Christ has given the Church two ordinances to be observed: baptism in water and Holy Communion. These ordinances are acts of obedience and expressions of faith, symbolizing our relationship with Christ and proclaiming His work of salvation.

(a) Baptism in Water
We believe that baptism by immersion is commanded in Scripture. All who repent and believe in Christ as Savior and Lord are to be baptized. Through baptism, believers declare to the world that they have died with Christ and have been raised with Him to walk in newness of life.
( Matt. 28:19-20; Acts 2:38, 10:47-48; Romans 6:3-5;)

(b) Holy Communion
We believe that the Lord’s Supper, consisting of the bread and fruit of the vine, is a symbolic act expressing our sharing in the divine nature of Jesus Christ. It serves as a memorial of His suffering and death, a proclamation of His second coming, and is to be observed by all believers “until He comes.”
(Matt. 26:26-29; Luke 22:19-20; John 6:51-58; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26; 2 Peter 1:4; )
